Privacy policy for the “Did You Thank the AI?” quiz
Last updated: October 22, 2026
This policy covers the quiz “Did You Thank the AI?” (in French, “Avez-vous dit merci à l’IA ?”), published by Marc-Antoine Kane under the PARLYA brand and offered in your browser at quiz.parlya.com. It is short, because there is little to say: the quiz never asks you for personal information, and your answers never leave your browser.
For the parlya.com website, see the site’s privacy policy.
The essentials
- No account, no email, no form.
- Your answers, your profile, and your history stay in your browser. They are sent neither to PARLYA nor to any third-party service, except what you choose to share (see “Sharing and friend challenges”).
- No ads, no analytics tools, no trackers, no cookies.
- The quiz loads nothing from any third-party service: no fonts, no statistics, no ads. Everything is served from quiz.parlya.com.
- You can erase everything at any time.
What is stored in your browser
To work, the quiz keeps a few pieces of information in your browser’s local storage, reserved for quiz.parlya.com:
- the language, if you chose it yourself (French or English);
- the scenes from your last game, so you get different ones next time;
- your result history (date, profile, and scores), limited to the last twelve, to show how your results change over time;
- a challenge received from a friend (their rounded scores), while you take the quiz yourself. It is erased as soon as the comparison has been shown to you.
This information is sent neither to PARLYA nor to any third-party service, except what you choose to share (see “Sharing and friend challenges”). PARLYA has no access to what your browser stores.
It belongs to this browser only: another browser, or another device, can’t see it. In private browsing, it disappears when you close the last private tab.
How to erase everything
- In the quiz: Privacy screen, “Delete all my data” button. Deletion is permanent: the quiz keeps no copy anywhere else. It does not affect challenge links you have already sent.
- Or from your browser, by clearing the site data for quiz.parlya.com.
Hosting
The quiz is hosted by Hostinger. As with any website, the server receives, with every request from your browser, the technical information that comes with it, including the IP address, the date and time, the address requested, and the browser type. The host automatically records it in technical logs. PARLYA can view these logs in its hosting account.
Your answers to the quiz are not in these logs: they never leave your browser. A challenge link, however, does leave a trace there when it is opened: see below.
Vibrations
On some phones, the browser makes the device vibrate lightly at a few moments in the quiz. This requires no permission and gives access to no data.
Notifications
The quiz sends no notifications and never asks for permission to.
Sharing and friend challenges
Nothing is shared unless you press a share button yourself. The quiz has no access to your contacts, your messages, or your photos.
- The image card is created in your browser, at the moment you share it. If your browser can open your device’s share menu, that menu opens and you choose the app and the recipient; otherwise, the image is downloaded and you send it yourself.
- A line or a challenge link goes through the share menu in the same way, or is copied to your clipboard.
- The challenge link carries only three things: your profile, the quiz language, and your nine rounded scores. No name, nothing that identifies you, no contact details. When your friend opens it, their browser requests the page from the server like any other page, so the link appears in the host’s technical logs. Your friend’s browser then works out the result on its own.
- If you paste the link into a messaging app, that app may show a preview of the page (its title, for example), which it fetches itself from quiz.parlya.com.
Once sent, whatever you share is handled by the app you chose (messaging app, social network…), under its own privacy policy.
External links
The “Why PARLYA?” screen offers links to the parlya.com website, to an online bookshop (in the French version), and to PARLYA’s social media accounts. They open outside the quiz and fall under those services’ own privacy policies. The free course that one of these links leads to asks you to create an account on parlya.com.
Children
The quiz asks for no personal information, whatever the age of the person using it.
Your rights and contact
Your answers, your profile, and your history are in your browser, under your sole control: PARLYA does not hold them, so there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete, apart from the host’s technical logs (see “Hosting”).
For any question, including about the host’s technical logs: contact@parlya.com. You can also file a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
Changes
If a future version of the quiz were to handle data differently, this policy would be updated before that version goes live, and the date at the top of the page changed.
